Materials Science

What is GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic)?

GRP (GRP - Glass Reinforced Plastic) is a superior composite material resulting from the combination of the high mechanical strength of glass fiber and the chemical resistance of thermosetting resin.

In this combination, glass fibers form the "bone" structure that carries the load, while the resin forms the "muscle" tissue that holds these fibers together, distributes the load and protects against external factors.

Production Method

Filament Winding

In CNC-controlled machines, continuous glass fiber rovings pass through the resin bath and are wound on the rotating mold with micron precision. Beyond manual production, we produce tanks with equal strength at every point.

Homogeneous Structure

Endless fiberglass rovings are wound with perfect order and tension. The risk of weak spots or air bubbles in manual production is eliminated.

Directed Strength

Fibers are wrapped at hoop and helical angles depending on the pressure the tank will be exposed to. Stronger pressure resistance than steel.

Monoblock Body

The tank body is produced in one piece. There are no joints, welds or rivets. Sealing is guaranteed.

Optimized Cost

Wall thickness is optimized according to pressure with computer-aided design. The use of unnecessary materials is avoided.

Material Options

Resin Types and Areas of Use

We offer resin options suitable for every chemical and temperature condition. Our engineers determine the most suitable resin for your project.

Orthophthalic Resins

General purpose use

Low-Medium

It is preferred in simple water storage or decorative products that are resistant to atmospheric conditions. It is an economical option.

Isophthalic Resins

Drinking water and medium chemical resistance

Medium-High

They are resins with increased water and chemical resistance. It is standard in underground tanks and projects requiring hydrolysis resistance.

Vinylester Resins

Aggressive chemicals

Very High

Excellent resistance to acids, bases, solvents and oxidizing agents. It is indispensable for high temperature and industrial process tanks.

Epoxy Resins

Special mechanical and thermal applications

Highest

These are resins used in aviation and advanced engineering applications. It can be used according to the requirements of the project.
